Coco & Maya – An Adoption Story

We love it when we hear back from somebody who has adopted animals that we have rescued. We were recently sent and update from Sharon about two kittens she adopted late last year.

The kittens were born to some stray cats that had taken up residence in a South Croydon garage. An RSPCA Inspector managed to catch the 7 cats that made up the group and although they were semi-feral, the kittens were young enough at 5-6 weeks old to socialise and to be homed with a family.

Sharon writes, “We have just taken Coco & Maya for their second jabs and the vet was very happy with their health and progress with them now each weighing a healthy 1.4kg.

There were lots of oohs and aahs from staff and clients alike and Coco had a nice cuddle with one of the nurses.

They are doing so well and love being cuddled a lot and brushed every day. We have even progressed  to Coco running around loose in the room with my dog Tara – supervised of course!

Maya is more reluctant to interact with Tara but she keeps persisting and I have no doubt will win her over too. Tara was so happy when I brought the kittens back from the vets.”

After these kittens had a very difficult start to their lives we are delighted that they are doing so well in their loving forever home.

If you are interested in adopting a cat, please visit our adoption page on this site. If you would like to make a donation so that we can help other adorable animals that are in need, please click on the donate button on this page.

The other cats that we captured are semi-feral and are currently with our experienced fosterers who are training them to see whether they can also be homed with a family or whether they need a different environment such as a farm to meet their needs.

Please look at our adoption page if you would like to adopt a cat or kitten. Any ready for rehoming will be shown there.

Boarding a rescued animal costs about £6 per day, so if you are enable to donate a few pounds towards helping to give one a second chance that would be wonderful. You will find a donate button on the site or can click here.
