Will Linsdell, Trustee Chairman

Tell me a little about you – I have worked in the finance sector for some large organisations and am now a self-employed payments consultant. I am married and we have a miniature poodle called Meli. My biggest hobby is travelling and I have visited around 75 countries so far. I also love writing and have published three books.

How long have you been an RSPCA trustee? Officially since November 2021.

As a trustee, what are your responsibilities? My main responsibility firstly has been in creating this website and since January 2022 have become chairman, a busy but rewarding role. I am also involved in our social media activities and fundraising.

Why did you become a trustee of RSPCA? I think all animals are amazing and believe that all should be given a wonderful life with love, care & attention. I also believe that all decent, caring people deserve to experience the joy of owning a pet no matter their circumstances.

Do you have a message for our followers/supporters/volunteers? A massive thank you of course. Everybody has already said it but we could simply not survive to help animals if it was not for you all.

What is your favourite domestic and favourite British wild animal, and why? I grew up with cats and loved them all, but since I got married we have had dogs and I have to admit that they are my favourite!

As for wild animals, squirrels win it for me. The greys are of course not indigenous to the UK but are very welcome in my garden. Sometimes we have four at one time and I love watching them chase each other around the garden and up trees. Our dog also thinks he will catch one eventually – no chance of course. Do you have an amusing/heart-warming animal related anecdote, story or joke that you can share?

What’s the difference between a gun with a bent barrel and a constipated owl?

One can shoot but can’t hit, the other……..I’ll leave it there!
