Volunteer

We would love to hear from you if you would like to volunteer in one of our shops (Croydon, Crystal Palace & Tooting), to help run our on-line shop on eBay, to help us transport animals (dogs, cats & rabbits) between owners, fosterers, boarding establishments & vets, or to become a fosterer for one of intake of vulnerable cats or rabbits.

Current Vacancies

Shop Volunteers in Tooting & Croydon

We are especially in need of volunteers to join our family in our Tooting shop at 71-73 Upper Tooting Road, SW17 7TW during our opening hours of 9am – 5pm Monday to Saturday and 10-4 on Sundays, and in Croydon at 267 Lower Addiscombe Road 9am – 5pm Monday to Saturday.

The areas that we would like help with include unpacking and sorting donations; hanging, steaming and tagging garments; re-stocking the shop floor; pricing items; operating the till; creating window displays; cleaning and tidying and generally communicating with our customers.

Volunteering for the RSPCA is a very rewarding experience, and you would also be helping vital animal welfare in the large South London region.

Even if you can only spare a few hours a week we would love to hear from you. We will give you any training that you need and as much tea as you can drink!

ebay Sales

We require volunteers to help us with our eBay on-line shop. Duties will include identifying & pricing up quality donations to be sold on-line, photographing & uploading photos/descriptions, responding to queries, packing & despatching items, leaving feedback etc.

Animal Transporters

Our primary role is animal welfare and this includes rehoming cats & rabbits, and helping out pet owners in need with vet care for their beloved pets.

Last year we rehomed over 160 animals and helped out many pet owners who were struggling to give their animals the medical care they needed.

Although we employ a full-time Animal Welfare Officer, we are need of volunteer drivers to help transport anmals between our boarding establishments, network of fosterers, vets and sometimes vulnerable owners.

If you have a full, clean driving licence and can spare a few hours a week we’d love to hear from you. We will also reimburse fuel expenses and any parking fees incurred

Please e-mail Jacqui at enquiries@rspcacroydon.org.uk if you think you can help out in any way described above, or would like more information.

Event Volunteers

We are always on the look out for volunteers to help us at our events (see our events page for past & future events).

We are delighted to be the Charity of the Year at Pets at Home in Wimbledon and will be holding events there throughout 2022. If you live near the store we would love to have you along to help – you can email us at office@rspcasouthlondon.org.uk if you would like to assist.

We are also always ready to listen to creative ways that we can raise funds and would love to hear your ideas – again you can email us at office@rspcasouthlondon.org.uk.

Events that we have planned in the next few months include our One Fun Day, which is held in June every year.

Wildlife Friends

The RSPCA would love people to volunteer as a wildlife friend. This could mean helping to transport small wildlife to vets or RSPCA animal centres, being able to give advice to people on what to do if they spot vulnerable wildlife and even in creating a wildlife friendly garden.

This is a national RSPCA initiative and more information can be found HERE.
