Today is the start of Lent, the forty day period that takes us up until 14th April and the start of the Easter weekend.
Lent of course is a very important part of the Western religious calendar, but is also a time of year that many people give up something, to both mark the period and for the good of their health.

If you choose to give up something for Lent this year, why not also mark the significance by donating the money that you would have spent on your indulgences to charity?
We at the RSPCA South London would certainly be grateful for any donation, no matter how small, as everything helps in our quest to improve animal welfare in our area.
Whatever you aim to give up, we all wish you luck with your challenge.
