We recently rescued a stray kitten in Tooting and were amazed to discover that she has hypnotic powers.

Inspector Jayne Rodwell first noticed something strange when she inexplicably stopped at a fishmongers on the way to taking the kitten to the vets for a check-over. She had no intention beforehand to do so, but found herself purchasing some finest cooked salmon, which was then fed to the hungry kitten.
At the vets, the checks revealed that nothing was amiss with the kitten who had now been christened Frankie in honour of Ol’ Blue Eyes, Frank Sinatra.

However, vet nurse Daisy Reynolds felt compelled to go to the supermarket next door to buy some cream that Frankie gratefully lapped up. Daisy knew that this was not the best thing for Frankie, but she had been powerless to resist the urge to go out to buy the cream.

Next up, Frankie was taken to fosterer Jean Baker to be looked after until such time as an adopter could be found. Jean has looked after hundreds of cats and has a strict ’no bedroom’ rule for all cats in her care.
Incredibly Jean found herself picking up Frankie after the ten o’clock news and taking her to her bed to sleep for the night. Jean knew that she had not wanted Frankie to sleep there, but could not stop it from happening.

Finally, Frankie was adopted by Prila Olof. Prila is Romanian by birth and Frankie immediately reminded her of the cat she had as a child growing up in Tmisoara.
Prila had been well prepared with all sorts of kitten food. This was all destined for the bin however as soon as the new owner looked Frankie in her deep blue eyes. Instead she found herself off to Tescos to buy their finest salmon and pots of cream, which Frankie delighted in consuming.
A few weeks passed with Frankie sleeping on Prila’s bed against her better judgment. Prila became concerned with all the weight Frankie was putting on, so took her to the vets where she was seen by Daisy.
As the ladies started talking they realised that they had both inadvisably given Frankie cream. Then Daisy remembered the inspector telling the story about the salmon purchase. She phoned Jayne who confirmed that Daisy had remembered well.
Suspecting that Frankie was somehow hypnotising people with her eyes, she was taken to see the President of the Hypnotic Society in Holborn in London. He carried out some tests and confirmed that Frankie did indeed have hypnotic powers, thought to be a world first.
Prila is currently arranging a UK wide tour where Frankie is expected to compel members of the audience to leave the auditorium to buy food & toys for her.
When asked to comment about the phenomenon, Prila answered, ”at first I thought this was some sort of miracle, but then I realised my name is an anagram.”
