As pet owners we know only too well how tempting it is to give in to your beloved pet when it pleas for a snack from your meal table or a treat from the jar. However, that’s not always being kind.
Our network of vets in South London are reporting that they have seen a surge in pet obesity with all the problems that can bring. Just like humans this can lead to diabetes, heart disease, friction sores and unsustainable pressure on bones and joints.

This can in turn mean that your pet’s quality of life deteriorates (no playing, jumping or climbing trees), can make them lethargic, and ultimately lead to premature death.
Just like for us, everything in moderation is key.
The RSPCA have published advice on how to prevent your pet becoming overweight and to spot the danger signs. You can read the full advice HERE.
