Fireworks, Not Fun For All

Its that time of year again when fireworks seem to be let off for days on end.

If you want to entertain the family to a display, please consider your pet owning neighbours for whom this time of year can be a nightmare as they try to calm their terrified pets. We all want to have seasonal fun, but rather than setting off your own fireworks please consider going to an organised display instead if possible.

If you do want to have them at home, we would thoroughly recommend that you stick to the traditional date of 5th November. This will ensure that we do not prolong the terror for our animals.

Unfortunately every year animals also suffer injuries as they get freaked out by the noise and flashes. The RSPCA gets hundreds of calls every year from worried owners, as well as far too many call outs to rescue injured animals.

The poor horse shown below had to be rescued after impaling itself on a fence post as it fled from being spooked by fireworks. It is now fit and healthy thankfully but suffered a lot due to its injuries. Please just think of others.
