Making New Year’s Resolutions for 2023

The ancient Babylonians are said to have been the first people to make New Year’s resolutions, some 4,000 years ago.

This has become a common tradition in western cultures with pledges and goals set before midnight on 31st December.

Have you made any resolutions this year? Maybe your goal is to exercise more, quit smoking, or to cut out chocolate?

Many people nowadays practice a detox diet in January to counter all of the excesses over the festive season.

Whatever you are aiming for, we at RSPCA South London wish you the best with your endeavours.

As an added incentive this year, why not put aside the money you save each month from not buying that extra bar of chocolate and donate what you save to your favourite charity?

If you do, naturally we hope that charity is RSPCA South London. Please just click on the image below if you are able to afford to make a donation. Every penny is gratefully received and makes a real difference to animal welfare.

£6 could buy you ten mars bars, or alternatively could pay for a day’s upkeep for a rescued cat.

£12 could buy you 3 pints of beer, or could feed a hungry dog for a week.

£50 could buy you 12 bottles of wine, or it could pay for a stray cat to be neutered before it is rehomed.

Whatever goals you have, we’d love to hear about them on our social media pages, and don’t forget to leave a comment to this post.

Thank you for reading and here’s to a great 2023 for everybody.
