2023, The Year Of The Rabbit

Gong hei fat choy to our to our Cantonese speaking readers, Xīnnián hǎo if Mandarin is your dialect.

Today marks the start of the new Chinese lunar year, sparking a two weeks or so of revelry. Visit Chinatown in London and you will get the idea,

Every year is the year of the rabbit and we at the RSPCA in South London have some initiatives aimed at ensuring their welfare.

First of all we have a discounted rabbit neutering scheme. It is notoriously difficult to sex a bunny, and a very tricky and expensive operation to neuter them. We have seen an explosion in the domestic rabbit population in recent times with rabbits reproducing often coming as an unwanted surprise for owners.

We have a discounted neutering scheme through selected vets. For just £10 you can get yours neutered. Please click HERE for details.

We have also launched a rabbit fostering scheme to look after a few unwanted rabbits until they are fortunate enough to find their forever home. We really need more rabbit fosterers.

You will need a big garden as the RSPCA compliant hutches measure 2×3 metres. It is very rewarding and if you are interested, please see our contact page.

The RSPCA also provides lots of advice about look after rabbits. Click BUNNY and RABBIT for more information.
