Are you Halloween ready?

With Halloween fast approaching, we must pay special attention to the amazing black cats we have in our shelters and homes, especially as most people sadly avoid them 😭

Meet Elvis who has been with us since the 11^th February, can you believe it? Elvis and his sister Fleur were signed over to us by a lovely man who unfortunately had to move into assisted living and couldn’t bring his cats with him, even though he had had them for 7 years! Fleur has since been adopted leaving Elvis to find love by himself. While Fleur was more outgoing, Elvis is more like a fine wine, secretive at first but eventually developing into a fantastic companion.

We know from chatting to his previous owner that he adores the outdoors but also loves to spend some time with the humans looking after him. He enjoys contact with his carers as long as he is allowed to initiate it and is generally very independent. Elvis would really suit an adopter who wants to admire a beautiful cat and not have to worry about constantly engaging him to keep him happy. While he is more aloof than the usual lap-cat, he loves taking treats from his carers and waking up from a nap to say hello to visitors (and see if they have food for him).

Elvis is coming up to 8 years old and in really good health and is a big boy. He almost looks like a small jaguar and will provide a real presence in the home. He has been neutered, microchipped, fleaed, wormed, and vaccinated, and he is waiting very patiently to be adopted! Could your lifestyle be what Elvis needs?
