The Wait Is Over

Our Tooting branch is now open!

You make all the differenceThank you to everyone who has supported us with donations, good wishes and those have visited our new Tooting RSPCA shop already.  We are now officially open!!

You can help champion animal welfare in your community by engaging with us on your high street.  There are three key ways you can make a difference through your local RSPCA shops:

1. Donate

Do you have unwanted items at home?  When did you last have a clear out?

We loved some of the suggestions in this article we came across recently. Particularly the idea of setting yourself 30 minutes to tackle some decluttering in your home, so it doesn’t feel overwhelming.  It makes it feel so much for managable to start. You can sell your items, give them to friends or of course you can donate to us.  Any clothes, shoes, books, games, toys, ornaments and even any household items we can take and use the proceeds to benefit animals in the local area

2. Volunteer

We are lucky to have so many great people who support us in different ways. Volunteers are the life-blood of what we do and there is such a range of things to do, with differing amounts of time required.  We give full training to all jobs, so you could even enhance or learn a skill, whether that be helping people in-store, sorting through donations, making the shop window look presentable or even transporting donations from one shop to another (yes we pay for fuel).  Whether you have an hour or a regular amount of time to share, why not get in touch and we can talk about how you could help.

3. Shopping

Have you been to one of over 300 RSPCA shops that we have in the UK? In South London we have branches in Crystal Palace, Croydon and Caterham as well as our new Tooting store. In each we have new items as well as donated ones.  Who knows what you might find, and it can change on a daily basis.  It’s also much more sustainable than buying new and it supports your local community!

You’ll find our new Tooting branch at 71-73 Upper Tooting Road, come and say hello.  It’s open Monday to Saturday 9.30-5.30 or Sunday 11-5. Also, if you’re interested in becoming a volunteer at the shop or any of our South London branches, please email Jacqui at office@rspcasouthlondon.org.uk
