Spotlight: On Our Work: Zendaya

This time of year is common for an uplift iN cats needing to be re-homed.  Some of this is due to the decrease in families able to re-home animals around the summer holidays.

Luckily we managed to find a fosterer who could take care of Zendaya, a 2 year old tabby cat who was found in Park Hill Park in Croydon by members of the public.  Her fosterer noticed in the first week that Zendaya was limping slightly. When we took her to the vets for a health check we made sure this was looked at too. It turned out that she had a healed femur fracture that likely occurred a few weeks prior!

Although the bone was healed, the broken parts weren’t aligned properly which has made her leg 1cm shorter than the other. The area was also likely to be more fragile, so the vets  recommended that Zendaya be re-homed as an indoor cat.

She will have a second X-ray in late September to make sure the bony spur isn’t growing or causing any problems. This will be a further cost to us of £260 ahead of her adoption.

Zendaya has a very special personality that we sometimes see in strays from unknown origins.   We are looking for someone to adopt her.  She very much enjoys company and will follow you room to room, rub up against your legs, and sometimes sleep on your bed with you. However she appreciates being petted on her own terms and will let you know if she’s had enough or doesn’t want to be touched.

Because of this, we think an experienced cat owner will be best for Zendaya so that she has the proper time and also boundaries to develop a full and loving relationship! She has spent some time with a dog at her foster home, and while she is wary she should do well in a home with a dog if they are relaxed.

If you’re interested to discover more about Zendaya contact us.

If however you’d like to help contribute to the funding for the next X-Ray needed – which will be £260 then please please make a donation.  Any contribution you can make, big or small, will make a difference.
