We’ve had an amazing year and it’s thanks to your support. We’ve seen law changes, a monumental birthday, and lots of much needed help for animals in the South London area. We’d like to share with you some of our 2024 milestones with you:

78 Rehomed Cats in South London: Through tireless efforts, we found loving homes for 78 cats from a range of backgrounds, ensuring they have safe and caring environments that suit their needs.
44 Neutered Owned Pets: Our commitment to controlling the pet population and supporting our community led to the neutering of 44 owned animals, promoting healthier lives and preventing unwanted litters.
66 Microchipped Owned Pets: In 2024 the new UK law was introduced and all owned pets require a microchip. We embraced pet safety and supported the South London community and offered microchipping at a number of events we ran and attended. In total in the second half of the year we microchiped 66 owned pets, which will help their quick return if they become lost. Look out for our next microchipping event either by subscribing to our blogs or following us on Instagram

200 The Birthday We Celebrated This Year: 2024 saw the RSPCA turn 200 years old and with this huge milestone we carried out a rebrand of our presence. If you’ve been to one of our 3 shops in the South London area you’ll have seen our brand new look. Keep your eyes peeled for our newly branded van on a street near you
8,000 miles driven by our Animal Welfare Officer: Cheska, our Superstar AWO demonstrated her commitment by driving a colossal local 8,000 miles in-between all the animal love and expert care she provides carrying out branch welfare activities.

1 Chairman wrote a childrens book to raise funds for the branch: The Life & Times of Mr Bartholomew Bucket is an amazing book being talked about and written by our awesome Chairman. It’s not only been on TV but has been featured in local news too. Watch the interview here. If you haven’t got a copy of the book, get your copy today. It’s a great way to help raise money for your local RSPCA. Who do you know that would like a copy?

30-Day Appeal Success: In February, we launched a 30-day appeal to raise £6,500 for much needed boarding pens to help during the cost of living crisis. The generous and much needed support we received enabled us house the influx of animals we get at the start of the year.

3 RSPCA shops in your South London area: We opened our newest shop in Tooting this year. This joins our Crystal Palace and Croydon shops to complete our triumvirate of places you can donate and buy pre-loved and new items.
Did you know that you can also make buy online from us. We have a depop site along with an ebay site just brimming with goodies and bargains. Do also take a look at our Ebay store
And don’t forget about gift aid. It means we can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you give and it will not cost you a penny extra!

the Farm Assured thing has caused so much adverse publicity. Ie resignation by Chris Packham and Caroline Lucas. Was it worth it? How much did the charity get paid for using that assurance…? Because money must have been involved.

Hi Diane, thank you for your message. The discussions around Farm Assured are unfortunately taking attention away from all the good work we are doing in the area. It’s worth noting that the RSPCA South London is a branch of the national charity and funds raised in the local area are spent in the local area on local animal support and rescue. Thank you so much for your continued support.
