From Finish Lines to Lifelines: Your Event Can Change Everything

Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or someone who’s never run further than the local shops, there’s a perfect way for you to get involved and make a real difference to animals in need.

Every day, the RSPCA rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes thousands of animals across England and Wales. Behind every wagging tail and every purring cat is a story of hope – and your support can be the turning point in an animal’s journey from suffering to safety.

The London Landmarks Half Marathon 2026 is our flagship fundraising event, and we couldn’t be more excited about it. Scheduled for Sunday, 12 April 2026, this incredible race takes you past some of London’s most iconic sights while you run for one of the most important causes. With over 130 places available, this is the perfect opportunity for groups of colleagues, friends, or volunteers to come together and tackle something amazing as a team.

If however you’re someone who has never run before and is feeling inspired, why not try first the popular Couch to 5K like many of us at the RSPCA.

Think Beyond the Big Events

While our official running events are fantastic opportunities, we know that creativity and community spirit come in all shapes and sizes. Some of our most successful fundraisers have come from people who’ve organized their own events, tailored to their interests and communities.

Get Creative with Your Fundraising:

  • Organize a local fun run or walk in your neighborhood park
  • Set up a sponsored bike ride exploring scenic routes near you
  • Challenge yourself with a sponsored fitness goal – maybe it’s doing 100 press-ups a day for a month
  • Host a sports tournament with entry fees going to the RSPCA
  • Create a virtual challenge where participants can join from anywhere

The beauty of self-organised events is that you can make them uniquely yours while still being part of something bigger. You could theme your event around dogs, cats, or wildlife – whatever animals are closest to your heart.

You’re not just raising money – you’re providing hope, healing, and second chances.

Every penny makes a real difference. It’s easy to think that individual contributions don’t matter much, but the reality is quite different. Every single pound you raise has the power to create real change.

You’re not just raising money – you’re providing hope, healing, and second chances.

Feel the Power of Doing Good

There’s a unique satisfaction that comes from knowing your efforts are making a tangible difference to creatures who can’t speak for themselves. Every training run, every fundraising conversation, every pound raised is an act of compassion that ripples outward.

Participants in our events often tell us that the experience changes them. They feel more connected to their community, more confident in their abilities, and deeply satisfied knowing they’ve contributed to something truly meaningful. Many become long-term supporters, volunteers, or even foster families for rescued animals.

Ready to get started?

Remember, you don’t have to be the fastest runner or the most experienced organiser. You just need to care about animals and be willing to take that first step. The RSPCA community will be with you every step of the way.

Because at the end of the day, every animal deserves a chance at happiness, and every person has the power to help make that happen. Will you be one of them?
