Benson came into our care in last year. A two-year-old grey tabby, he had been living as a stray and
arrived with a gunky, inflamed eye that raised concerns about a possible injury. Sadly, despite our efforts,
no one came forward to claim him!
Further checks revealed that Benson had an eye ulcer, which needed treatment. He also tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), meaning he would need an indoor-only home to help keep him safe and well. These kinds of rehoming situations can sometimes take longer — but Benson didn’t have to wait long at all.
After just over a month in our care, Benson had attracted a lot of attention! Several great homes came forward, and eventually we matched him with a lovely couple who could give him the calm, secure environment he needed.
He took a little time to recover fully from his eye issues, but once the ulcer healed, he settled in brilliantly. His adopters recently sent us this lovely update:
“We’ve had Benson for almost a year now and he is a dream! We’ve been really lucky because we
thought he might not be too cuddly because he was a stray but he is so friendly and affectionate, and
he loves cuddles and sitting on our lap when it’s cold! He is also really playful and chatty – although a lot of the time he wants to chat at 4am“
