The South London branch of the RSPCA cares for the welfare of animals in our area thanks to the generosity of our wonderful volunteers & supporters.
A young female cat named Bandit was discovered in Mitcham, initially thought to be pregnant. However, an ultrasound revealed she had pyometra, leading to emergency surgery. The treatment cost £866, straining the already limited budget of the RSPCA branch. Donations are sought to support her recovery and future care.
Kitten season, from April to October, increases the number of unwanted litters, stressing shelters. Neutering, community management, and responsible care for found kittens are crucial for controlling populations. Find out more
In 2024, RSPCA South London achieved significant milestones, including rehoming 78 cats, neutering 44 pets, and celebrating their 200th anniversary with community engagement initiatives.
Frank and Arthur, two kittens rescued with their mother Rubic, found a permanent home with their fosterer after completing their medical care and treatment.
October is Adoptober, celebrating rescued animals. This month features brothers Alfie and Thor, rescued six months ago from a poor living situation. The Crystal Palace charity shop is seeking friendly volunteers for tasks such as sorting donations, customer service, and more on Sundays and Mondays. The RSPCA South London Branch is hosting a free cat microchipping event on June 5th, 2024, from 11am to 3pm at their Tooting charity shop. With the new law requiring cat microchipping, this event offers support and guidance to cat owners. The event is free, but donations are encouraged. Spread the word and join!
