EVENT: RSPCA South London Branch – Cat Microchipping

We are hosting a free cat microchipping event to help those in our community keep their cats safe and sound!

Microchipping is a simple, quick, and effective way to ensure your cat can always be identified and returned home if they go missing.

Why microchip your cat?

Since June 2024, microchipping has been a legal requirement for all pet cats in England. If your cat is not yet microchipped, this is the perfect opportunity to get it done at little-to-no cost by our awesome trained Animal Welfare Officer.

Important Information

  • Cats must be brought in a secure carrier.
  • Owners must be 18 or older.
  • Please make sure your cat is well-hydrated before the event, as this makes implantation easier.
  • We cannot microchip cats less than 10 weeks old.
  • We will do our best to implant every cat, but with nervous cats it is not always possible.
  • We are not means testing for this event.

While the service is free, we invite people to donate to help support our work with local animals. Suggestion is a £15 donation – but you are free to donate more or less.

Additional Support & Advice

We will also have information on pet food banks, welfare support, and other resources for pet owners who may need assistance.
