Amanda Scott – Trustee

Tell me a little about you – for a day job I work in Banking currently working in the Digital area.  When I am not busy at work I am passionate about animal welfare particularly after having adopted a rescue cat a few years ago.

Although I live in London I enjoy getting out to the countryside visiting friends and family. I am particularly keen on the West country where I grew up.  I am a member of a local gym and also a running club.

How long have you been an RSPCA trustee?  For a couple of years now and have enjoyed every bit of the journey we have been on as a local branch.

As a trustee, what are your responsibilities?  I am the treasurer so responsible for the finances, budgets and audit process.

Why did you become a trustee of RSPCA?  Mainly due to my passion for animal welfare.  I had been a trustee before and knew that the work done by charities can really make a difference to the community.

Do you have a message for our followers/supporters/volunteers?  Yes, please get involved even if it is a few hours a month it can really make a difference.

What is your favourite domestic and favourite British wild animal, and why?   I would have to say the Cat for domestic as I am a proud owner of one and for the wild animal the fox.  Living in London I see foxes all the time and am always amazed at their resilience.

Is there anything else to share?  Animal Welfare is such an important area and the work of the RSPCA in the local community is vital. Just a small donation or a purchase from a local RSPCA shop may not seem much but it does go directly to helping our animal friends.
